Privacy Policy
Effective date: 16 July 2026 · Contact: white.aidan@gmail.com · Provider: Symboyant Studios Pty Ltd, Australia
The short version: SunUp stores the minimum it needs to send you a daily reading of your crypto watchlist – your email, your preferences, your watchlist, and the history of readings the app generated for you. We don't run ads, we don't sell data, and we never connect to your money or exchange accounts.
What we collect and why
| Data | Why | Where it lives |
|---|---|---|
| Email address, display name | Your account sign-in and greeting | Supabase (AWS Sydney, ap-southeast-2) |
| Brief time and days, timezone, theme, display currency | Delivering your brief on the mornings and local time you choose, remembering dark mode and your preferred currency | Supabase |
| Watchlist (coins you add) | The brief only ever covers these coins | Supabase |
| Portfolio entries you type in (coin, amounts, buys and sells with dates and totals) | Showing your portfolio's live value, daily change, average price and vs-paid figures | Supabase |
| Readings & tracking history | Your daily briefs, tracked readings and their outcomes (the 30-day history) | Supabase |
| Push notification token | Sending the brief-ready and level-reached notifications you turn on | Supabase + Expo's push service |
| Email address (website waitlist) | One launch announcement email, if you signed up on this site before release | Supabase |
We do not collect: real names (unless you set one as display name), payment details, exchange accounts or API keys, wallet addresses, contacts, location, advertising identifiers, or usage analytics.
Sign-in with Google
If you sign in with Google, Google shares your email address with us to create your account. We receive nothing else from your Google account.
Third parties we rely on
- Supabase – database and authentication hosting (servers in AWS Sydney). They process all data in the table above on our behalf.
- Expo (Expo Application Services) – delivers push notifications. Sees your push token and the notification text (which can include coin symbols from your watchlist).
- CoinGecko – provides market prices. Our server asks for prices of coins; no personal data about you is sent to CoinGecko.
- Anthropic – only if the optional AI text-polish layer is enabled (it is OFF by default): used to reword brief text. The request contains coin symbols and the draft text, never your email or identity.
We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone. No advertising or analytics SDKs are embedded in the app.
Where your data goes
Data is stored in Australia (AWS Sydney via Supabase). Expo (US) processes push tokens, and CoinGecko/Anthropic (US) process the non-personal requests described above.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account exists. Deleting your account removes your profile, watchlist, portfolio, briefs, tracking history and push tokens.
Your rights
Australian users have rights under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), including access to and correction of personal information. Email white.aidan@gmail.com to access, correct, export or delete your data. You can delete your account at any time in the app under You → Delete my account and data, or by emailing us. If we can't resolve a privacy concern, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
Outside Australia. Wherever you use SunUp, the same applies: you can access, correct, export or delete your data by email or in the app, we don't sell personal information or use it for advertising, and we'll honour the rights your local law gives you (for example, access, rectification, erasure, portability and objection under the GDPR/UK GDPR, with complaints to your local supervisory authority). Your data is stored in Australia and processed by the providers listed above, some of which operate in the United States.
Children
SunUp is not directed at children and shows crypto market content; you must be at least 18 to use it.
Changes
We'll update this page and the effective date when the policy changes, and note material changes in the app.
